BCBA mock exams: choose, practice, and review
A mock exam gives you a structured practice session. Its usefulness depends on the question selection, the session conditions, and what you do with the results. Here is how to compare options and use a mock without confusing a practice score with an official result.

Check what the mock actually includes
Before starting, look at the available question count, domain coverage, time settings, and whether explanations are shown during or after the session. In Qvano, the reviewed catalog has 24 selectable mocks containing 76–185 questions each. Not every mock is a full 185-question session; the catalog count describes available practice content.
Choose a purpose for the session
Use a shorter session when you want to inspect a topic or a decision pattern. Choose a longer session when you want to observe how your attention and pacing change over time. Select exam mode if you want to postpone explanations until after answering; select study mode when immediate review is more useful.
Practice pacing deliberately
Choose a time allowance appropriate to your practice session. Check your pace at a few planned points instead of watching the clock after every item. Note whether you spend time rereading, comparing alternatives, or returning to flagged questions. For official timing and examination rules, consult the current BACB Handbook rather than a simulator setting.
Review correct answers too
Start with missed and uncertain items, but also review answers you got right by guessing. Separate a misunderstanding of the concept from overlooking a detail in the prompt. Save questions that require follow-up, and connect each one to a specific topic to review before the next session.
Compare results fairly
Question count, topic selection, repeated items, and time conditions can all change your practice result. Keep those conditions in your notes when comparing sessions. Qvano does not claim a validated passing threshold or guarantee that a mock score predicts the official examination outcome.
